Indian Defense

The IGMDP program (1982-2008) developed five physical missiles under the acronym PATNA: Prithvi, Agni, Trishul, Nag, and Akash. BrahMos was developed as a separate joint venture with Russia. DRDO was founded in 1958. Its motto is 'Balasya Mulam Vijnanam', meaning 'Strength's origin is in Science/Knowledge'. Indian Air Force's is Nabas Phrisam Deeptam, Navy is Sham No Varunah, Army is Seva Parmo Dharmah. [Memory Trick: 'Vijnanam' means Science/Knowledge, which matches DRDO's scientific laboratories.]

INS Arihant is the lead ship of India's Arihant class of nuclear-powered submarines. It established the third leg of India's strategic nuclear triad. [Memory Trick: 'Arihant' means 'Destroyer of Enemies', packing atomic weapons under ocean waves.]
